I had my monthly Ob appointment yesterday and the doc says everything seems great thus far. He is very happy with how things are going with both gummy bear and myself. I got to hear baby's heartbeat again - I don't think I could ever get used to how crazy awesome that is. Up until this last week, the nausea was getting a lot better. I've felt awful this week which is a little disheartening since I'm about to enter my second trimester which is typically when it would let up. I'm praying that this is its last hurrah before disappearing all together.
It's apparent that Callie is already getting bigger. She's currently fast asleep on Brian's chest, and we're quickly learning to soak up these moments while we can. Along with the three pounds she's gained in the last two weeks, she has also gained knowledge of several commands. She knows sit, lay down, give me your paw (and your other paw), high five, and is learning how to roll over, fetch and to go to the backdoor when she needs to go outside. Now all we need is for her to learn that "no" doesn't mean "bite harder" and to sleep through the night. She was given her first bath which she hated, but she is now the softest, fluffiest, little ball of craziness. Every time I pet her all I think of is this. She woke up in the time that I was writing this and for the very first time walked into her room and laid down on her bed of her own volition. I think I heard the stars singing a faint "Hallelujah!"
