We finally figured out that by letting Callie sleep in our room she will go all night without whining or going to the bathroom (again, can you hear me cheering?). However, this doesn't mean that she'll sleep through the night. She regularly wakes up in the middle of the night wanting to play which has led her to finding ways to get out of the barricade we built around her bed. Her favorite way is to burrow under our bed and army crawl her way out. She's surprisingly stealthy when she wants to be (she's currently laying under our bed as I type this). The up side is that she hasn't gone to the bathroom in the house when she's gotten out. My only complaint is that her middle of the night play times keep me awake. I still daydream about sleeping through the night without her waking me up. I'm just praying that happens before the baby comes.
We've also discovered that she loves fruits and vegetables. We have yet to give her something she hasn't liked including broccoli, green beans, lettuce, carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, apple, and strawberries. She's a girl after my own produce-loving heart. She hates going on walks because she doesn't like being away from the house. It's actually kind of sweet and convenient because she's good about staying in the yard, but annoying on days like today when it's sunny and 75 and all I want to do is take her for a walk. She may have one forced upon her by her loving parents.
In other news, Brian is crazy busy at work. He's on mandatory overtime right now (minimum 46 hours) but last week worked almost 60. It's a bummer not to see him as much, but I think it's God's way of providing for us right now while I'm not working. On that front, I did apply to the YMCA late last week so I'm hoping something comes from that. If I can't use my degree yet, I might as well do something I'm passionate about, right? If not, I'm praying God will show me where I'm meant to be. On a happier note, Brian's sister came to visit two weekends ago and his parents and brother visited last weekend. It so great to spend time with the people you love. It also makes us appreciate having a house so much more because we have the room to accommodate guests and space/a yard to hang out in.
Kayla, your blog is amazing! I love all of the photos of Callie, you and gummy bear! You look so happy and at peace! We are so happy for you and Brian! :)
