Gummy bear is 16 weeks old already and around 4-5 inches long! Over the next few weeks I'll start to feel like I'm actually caring a little person inside me as I'll soon begin to feel movement. And in just over four weeks we'll find out the sex of little gummy bear! It just doesn't seem real.
I'm finally starting to get a taste of the "honeymoon" trimester. My nausea is 99% gone and I'm having very few headaches. As a result, I was able to workout on Friday for the first time since learning about baby (one of the employees at the Y actually asked where I'd been). Hopefully there will be many more to come. I do feel a lot more tired the last couple weeks but I think that can largely be attributed to Callie. We did move her to the other side of the room at night so that is helping a lot. Spring allergies are not helping either. Hopefully the storms we're supposed to get the next few days will bring both excitement and relief.
Speaking of crazy face, all 22 lbs(!) of her is doing great. Less and less mystery pees and a better barricade around her bed so she can't rove around at night. By mystery pee, I mean I randomly find pee puddles that are inexplicable. I generally keep a really good eye on her but she somehow keeps sneaking them in, or should I say out. The only good part is that they're generally on the linoleum so it's easy clean up.
She also seems to have a crush on the neighbor kids behind us. They have two girls and a boy. The little boy who is a little under two years ADORES her. He repeats her name as he walks over to her and she practically wiggles in half with excitement. It's like a TV commercial watching them all play with her and she with them. She will whine and scratch at the backdoor if she seems them outside. She has also made friends with their 10-year-old beagle (Alli) who will whine if she sees Callie nearby. They chase each other around the backyards and the beagle is the reigning champ for endurance but I don't think it will last long.
Brian and I installed our second raised garden bed this weekend. We'll be planting/starting seeds this week and hopefully have much more exciting results than the plethora of tomatoes and plants that didn't take last year. We've mapped out the beds for: tomatoes, bell pepper, banana pepper, jalapeno pepper, carrots, onion, broccoli, two kinds of lettuce, and spinach. We will also pot up a few herbs. I see success pictures in this blog's future. Now if only we can keep our furry little house guest from playing in the dirt, things should go okay.
We'll get to spend some time with my mom and step-dad this weekend as they come down and visit and possibly help paint the living room - everyone's favorite family pastime, right? It will be nice to have them here and spend some time together and probably talk about how much better The Hunger Games is as a book than a movie. :)
Love,
