Sleep, where are you?

We picked up our Callie girl on Sunday! I was hoping to get a post in then, but she makes it hard to find time to do things, like sleep, for instance. It kills me a little inside to see her sleeping at my feet when I'm so tired I can feel it behind my eyes. All she has to do is lay down next to me with her head in my lap and it doesn't even matter anymore. She's so stinking cute that I can't believe she's mine. She's been here three days and I already miss her when we put her to bed. I can't even imagine what Brian goes through when he leaves for work in the morning.

She was born on Christmas making her seven and a half weeks old and a giant (for her age) 11lb ball of cuteness. She enjoys chewing on anything within reach, including my hands, feet and anything and everything I may be wearing. She gets the hiccups at least once a day and suckles in her sleep sometimes. She does have her frustrating points, but she gets monumentally better each day (and night) she is here. The first two nights she yelped like crazy when she woke up and last night was just a few little whimpers and she went back to sleep. Not only was I proud, but I almost felt like I was doing something wrong by letting myself go back to sleep. It was glorious. When one of us takes her out in the middle of the night and she doesn't want to be there she sits between our feet and rests her head on our legs. It melts away all frustrations of cleaning up her poo at 2am. I love her to pieces, how much more then will I love my own child? It blows my mind to think about.

Speaking of our little gummy bear, at just over 11 weeks along, baby is the size of a lime already! Brian hugged me last night and told me he could feel my baby bump! So of course I had to take a picture (see below). I'm sure many more pictures of Callie and a weekly baby bump photo are in the future.
On our way home from picking her up, she did great during the 50 minute ride, but ended up getting car sick after we got home :(

Praying in her sleep?

The little face that makes my heart melt every day. It's going to be a little sad watching her grow up.

Curled up by my feet as I type this.

Just over 11 weeks!
