- I was walking and talking before I was even a year old (and speaking full sentences at 15 months)
- I started kindergarten just over a week after turning 5.
- I finished high school and started college at 17 years old.
- I graduated with a Master's degree at 23.
- I was married and had a house before I turned 25.
I've always been "the baby" of my/our group of friends and always loved being there. I have loved accomplishing so much at such a young age, why not add Mom to the list, too? Apparently God has been planning this for awhile.
I think many future parents plan to feel prepared and "ready" (whatever that means) when they decide to have a child. I'm certainly no different. The funny part is, long before I was married, I imagined myself being a younger mom because I wanted to be like my mom. The closer that time period got, the scarier it became. Then God pushed me into the deep end. The great part is, I'm not scared anymore, though I may need to be reminded of this when the baby's arrival gets closer! I think God prepares us in ways we don't often foresee or expect. He's pretty rad that way.
In other baby news, I'm still nauseous quite a bit. I'm just holding out hope that the end is near and workouts will again be part of my daily routine. I get to tell one of my best friends tonight who is going to be so excited I can hardly stand to wait for her phone call. We also plan on telling several of our close friends this weekend at our Super Bowl party. Brian mentioned that I've told more people than he has so I might do him a solid and let him field this one.
And lastly, we got to meet our pup on Saturday! We're not sure which girl of the four is going to be ours yet. Three of the four girls were claimed when we put our deposit down so those people will get first pick. All of the puppies were gorgeous, though, I don't know how anyone could choose. Brian and I each held a girl (see below) so it's possible we held the one that will be ours! It's amazing how excited I can be for this puppy, especially since I've never had one, and still forget about it because the excitement of the baby continues to overshadow it.
