Praying For No Baby... Yet

I discovered it.  The scenario when you're in the last week-ish of pregnancy and you're praying that the baby doesn't come.  I mentioned in my last post that James was diagnosed with croup on Monday (he's been miserable since Sunday morning) and he's still pretty sick.  The croup cough and stridor (wheezing sound when he breathes in) are gone but it seems as though it's probably caused by the flu.  This is definitely the longest he's been miserably sick.  He's still coughing quite a bit, has a nearly nonstop runny nose, and isn't interested in eating much at all.  And then I caught it. I woke up yesterday morning with a horrible sore throat and feeling pretty achy - it actually felt like baby gained 10 pounds over night. It didn't seem too bad until after Brian went to work (of  course) and I got an awful headache and felt miserable.  Thankfully I have an amazing husband who came home early to help take care of both of us/let me rest. I just kept praying yesterday that baby would hold off at least a few more days because I couldn't even imagine going into labor in the state I was in. I'm feeling significantly better today, though not quite 100%.  And thankfully Brian doesn't seem to have caught it.  Despite the sickness, we clearly have quite a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

So outside of the last couple days, these last few weeks is probably the best I've felt all pregnancy, which is both awesome and kind of irritating at the same time.  At this point with James I was SOO ready to be done and this time I feel like I could easily go a couple more weeks. I had my 39 week appointment on Tuesday and my cervix hasn't really progressed yet which wasn't really a surprise to me, despite the amount of Braxton-Hicks I've been having.  I'm still convinced she's going to be a December baby. :) I am negative for GBS again so assuming baby and I are nice and healthy we'll be able to go home early from the hospital!

36 weeks

37 weeks

Left: 13 days before having James   Right: 12 days out from my current due date

38 weeks

Poor Callie is definitely feeling the effects of my being super pregnant and unable to roughhouse with her, it being really cold so we can't easily go for walks (with J along), and Brian working extra these last several weeks. She follows me around CONSTANTLY.  Part of me wonders if she knows something is coming and part me thinks she's probably just wanting attention.

I'm planning on finishing off the last of the preparations for baby over these next couple days and I hope to share full pictures of the nursery when that happens since it's still serving as a bit of a storage spot.  In the mean time, here are some of the maternity/family pictures we had taken at the end of October.

Love,
-K
