Well, this is just a tiny bit overdue. Here's a quick recap of the last two weeks.
Two weekends ago we drove up to Minnesota for the purpose of seeing my friend, Lindsay, who was back from Kenya for a couple weeks. She has been serving in the Peace Corps over there for the last year with a year left to go. Before she left she told me I wasn't allowed to get pregnant. Oops. It was great to see her and spend time with her and one of our other good high school friends. I think no matter what is going on in our lives, we're still going to feel like teenagers when we're together. I realized after the fact that we didn't get a picture together. HUGE fail on our part for that one.
In the hustle and bustle of things we forgot to take a baby bump picture until a couple days later than normal, here's the quick shot I snapped when I realized we forgot:

Last week was crazy busy with getting the house ready for the baby shower my parents threw for us among a lot of other things that needed to get done. I enjoy actually being busy despite not working, it just makes me feel bad when the dog isn't getting her usual amount of attention. She can only follow me around the house while I clean for so long before she's bored. Something that was keeping Brian busy was this present we received at the beginning of the week:
It's 53" tall. We were a little intimidated to say the least and Callie was actually a little scared of it. It has grown on both of us though and it looks nice in the baby's room. The reason I say it's been keeping Brian busy is because he's been doing things like this with it:
Yes, it's in my car. I went out to the garage one morning to find him strapped into my driver's seat with his paw even propped up like he was driving. I also found him laying in bed next to me one morning after Brian had gotten up early to run. He's been an unexpected source of entertainment. Now we just need to name him. =)
Callie has been finding creative ways to keep herself busy. After several frustrating minutes, she finally made her first kill in the house:

The baby shower on Saturday was a lot of fun and the weather cooperated nicely. Brian's parents ended up driving in from IL as well. It's nice getting to see so much of our family in such a short period of time - not something that happens often for us. The closer we get to having this baby, the sadder I get that we don't live closer to all of them. Some pictures from the shower:

| The awesome watermelon baby my mom made. She did an excellent job! |

| The bowl was filled with gummy bears :) |

| "Apple nachos" A pinterest recipe. |

| Homemade mini cheesecakes with oreo crust and whip cream and mini oreos for the topping. The whip cream melted but they were still delicious! |
Things are going pretty well right now outside of the pregnancy. I'm one of the top applicants being considered for the job at DMACC (yay!). They are contacting my references this week, so I'm assuming I'll hear a final decision next week. In the meantime, my way of contributing financially is not only finding ways to save us money but also selling things we don't need anymore. I sold something that I thought couldn't be worth more than $10 for $51! And I didn't even expect it to sell in the first place. Brian said it's something he would have just tossed if it came down to it, luckily he has me. I have also been doing some small decorating things around the house for very cheap (have I mentioned how sweet
Pinterest is). I'll probably dedicate a post to those soon.
As far as the pregnancy goes, I feel like I'm back in my first trimester - only fatter. I'm nauseous again (I actually woke up nauseous this morning for the first time in months) and crazy tired in the mornings. I'll usually get up around 6-6:30am and by about 8am I'm exhausted again and have to take a nap. I can handle the tiredness, it's the nausea that gets to me. It's frustrating how difficult my body is making it to eat a balanced diet. I've now been starting to hope that baby comes around week 37 (the early side of full term) so I can get this over with ASAP. On the up side, baby moves like crazy! It's weird how I can now distinguish different body parts and how some of his movements make my whole belly shift. His little butt is jutting into my ribs as I type this. I cannot wait to meet him.

| 28 weeks. I don't want to get any bigger! |
 |
| Sporting a baby present from the shower. Brian gets great joy out of doing these things. |
 |
| One of her favorite positions. Such a weirdo. |
 |
| Taco face. That's a rubber frisbee in her mouth, her way of asking to play. |
Love,
-K
