This is going to be an abbreviated post due to my lack of time and brain power.
I still can't believe how perfect our little man is. For fun I took another weekly belly picture when he was one week old:

| 1 week old! |
Things at home are going really well so far. We've only had to cook two or three of our freezer meals thanks to visits from both of our parents and lots of leftovers from that. At this rate I'm not going to have to actually make a dinner until October!
Up until Friday night James had his days and nights mixed up pretty bad. I was up with him three out of four nights last week for a consecutive five to six hours each night. Can I tell you how frustrating it is to watch your newborn fight sleep at 2am? And at the same time he was hardly fussy so he was just looking at me with his sweet face and big blue eyes and it was impossible to be frustrated with him. I did breakdown the last night of this at 4am when I realized I had been up since 10:30pm. I didn't even feel that tired, it was just so defeating. My sweet husband came to my rescue once again. I swear he must be hiding a white horse somewhere.

| The clock in the background says 3:23am. How can you be upset with that sweet face? (FYI that is just my arm he's laying on). |

| Another middle of the night picture - soo sweet! |
My parents came down again on Friday and said they'd be happy to help by getting up to be with him so I could get some rest. Well low and behold that's when he decided to have a great night's sleep and every night since then! The turn around has been amazing and I'm praying hard that he continues on this schedule. After a relatively decent night's sleep last night and a nap this morning I feel like a whole new woman!
James has successfully pooped twice while Brian was changing his diaper. Not just a poop, but a rocket poop. The kind that shoots across the room and hits the door kind of poop. I came upstairs the second time to find Brian laughing pretty hard about it. James has yet to poop while I'm changing him (score!) but does pee during changes a lot. I'm getting pretty good at catching them.
His umbilical cord fell off on Wednesday and is finally starting to look a lot better - I'm excited to be able to put him in onesies and the cloth diapers soon. He had his two week check-up on Thursday and the doctor says she's extremely happy with how he's doing. He's up to 8lbs 9oz and about 21 inches long. He had a pretty gnarly looking diaper rash due to his constant pooping, but religiously applying copious amounts of
butt paste have cleared that up. Not only his he healthy and thriving, but he's a pretty easy baby so far. He really only cries when he's hungry or has gas (which hasn't been a lot) and is content to look around at his world when he's awake.

| First time checking out his crib. |
 |
| Wide awake. |
I don't think I could really ask for much else at this point. We are extremely blessed not only with our little one but with such helpful parents! The house is still incredibly clean thanks to them =)
Love,
-K
These are all pictures from the first week, many more to come:

| Trying to suck on Dad's finger, I love that he's holding it. |
 |
| He makes faces like this when he's falling asleep ALL the time. I love it. |

| First nap in his crib! |

| My sweet little ones. |
 |
| Such a sweet little face. |

| Look who guessed the correct birth day! I didn't have time to cross off the previous day since I went into labor so early. Ironically my friend Dee had her baby on the day she guessed for us, they were two doors down from us in the hospital. :) |
