Yesterday we passed the 38 week mark, which is also the day I originally guessed I would have the baby. In hindsight, it seems so early and my due date of just 2 weeks away seems SOO close. A little part of me still wants to have him before my birthday on Friday so I can say that I had him at 25 years old (the same age both of our moms were when they had us), but at the same time I'm very okay with it being later. I'm even becoming more and more okay with the idea of him coming close to his due date so we have a decent space between our birthdays (a little ridiculous, I know, but it's your own day and no one wants that overshadowed by someone else's). Brian is now to the point where he's sick of waiting for Baby S to arrive and wants him to come soon. I love how much he's looking forward to meeting his son. It's amazing and wonderful how much this little guy, who hasn't even made an appearance yet, is causing me to love my husband that much more and in new and different ways. I actually start to tear up when I think about him holding our son. My gosh I'm going to be such a mess after he's born. Maybe I should put a box of tissues in my hospital bag.

| 38 weeks. It's crazy the size and drop difference between the 36 and 38 week pictures. |
Our other little baby, Miss Callie, is unfortunately not handling things well lately. I'm not sure what exactly is causing it but she's showing signs of having mild separation anxiety and not only is it frustrating trying to figure out what's going on, but our house is not taking it well. So far she has destroyed the rug in the front entryway (which isn't THAT big of a deal because it was old and we needed a new one anyway) and mangled the woodwork around the stairs on the main level. Not exactly a cheap fix. What worries me most about not finding a solution to this soon is that she may start destroying more stuff and at that point I would very, very, very sadly start to consider getting rid of her. We just simply can't afford replacing ruined furniture and fixtures in addition to her regular expenses. It's killing me that this is going on, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make it better, please share. We're already trying a few things after doing some research about this, so we'll see what happens I guess.

Some other (more positive) things going on around our humble abode include Brian building me a super awesome drying rack for the laundry room so I can stop lugging things upstairs to drape them around the guest bathroom - which would have only gotten worse once we start using the cloth diapers. All that's left is to paint, seal, and hang it. Lately I've been having some issues with my iPhone so I took it to the Apple store, they couldn't fix the issues, so they replaced it for free. I
love Apple's customer service. I was also able to expand our home gym by finding a set of dumbbells on craigslist for a really good price. We got a complete set of 5-50lbs (including 7.5s and 12.5s) that are only eight months old and they are exactly the same type we would have gotten if we'd had to buy them new. So. Pumped. Emotionally, not physically... not yet anyway. And (obviously most importantly because we all know you save the best for last) my 26th birthday is on Friday. It's weird to think about a celebration focused on me when my brain is so focused on the little guy I'm carrying around. I haven't even stopped to think about what I may want or want to do to celebrate. It would be nice to spend it with more family, but that really isn't an option at this point. That's okay, a fun night with my husband sounds pretty great, too. =)
